Recent reports on the asset declarations of Parliament members have raised questions on whether what is declared on paper match what people see in reality. When officials receive gifts & accumulate wealth worth millions, the public deserves to know where it came from. #Haamakurey

The current asset declaration system allows conflicts of interest to go unchecked and unverified business interests influence public decisions.

The weak oversight creates opportunities for undue influence & favouritism, and ultimately, those complicit are not held accountable.
