@AkilahObviously I built a flammable house in a brushfire zone, but I blame the government for not stopping me and not saving me… and I will do it all again if you reimburse me.
@JeremyHarrisTV@MayorofSeattle Seattle Mayor’s solution to drug use and homelessness during the World Cup is to get them to move to other stops on the light rail and to stop protecting Seattle’s parks and public spaces—as long as they’re away from tourists.
@mdubowitz@foxandfriends@kilmeade Saudi Arabia is being used as a justification for not escalating.
Trump won’t escalate because it will hurt stock markets, but can’t stand making a deal Iran will accept without a ground invasion because it will prove Trump is incompetent.
@DrRobDavidson Many of the Obamacare plans are essentially crisis coverage. No crisis, no need to claim.
Though it suggests lots of people don’t get annual checkups.
@teswoketoi You get on at street level and pretend you are on a road shared between streetcars and cars.
All the while staring at your phone’s gps and getting increasingly worried.
@davidlois_uned@EmmanuelSPV No cross traffic is allowed through the center of the city, a dramatic form of congestion pricing.
This reduces traffic and congestion, which opens other uses for city roads.
@Saul_Sadka Because Kuwait is closer and cheaper and easier to hit. Plus in the energy markets, no one cares about Israel. They care deeply about strikes that could escalate to destroying the world’s energy supply.
@Mynorthwest Pierce County voters rejected ST3 and they are being taxed for it.
Cancel West Seattle and spend the money on making Rainer Valley a grade separated line and automating the system.
Everyone will get better and faster service at every stop, and we only lose a few stations.
@Boenau The streets will always be clogged as long as cities pretend they are a free, infinite resource.
Bike lanes on sunny days help make this inexplicable decision more tolerable.
@aarmlovi The US needs a national property tax that credits what is given to the state, but does away with all loopholes.
Give it to the nation or to the state, but don’t steal from your neighbors.
@Boenau True.
Motor vehicles are the backbone of the modern economy even in places where a lot of people ride bicycles.
Bicycles are a transportation mode that can be easily replaced by walking.
@EverettRockford@future42org A couple billion of the saving could lift the rail in Rainier Valley and automate the entire line — allowing for shorter faster trains and much better off hour coverage — everywhere.
(Whoever allowed at grade should be fired, even if they no longer work in transportation.)
