A teenager has been charged with murder after a deadly shooting in North Harris County.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says Donald Slaughter, 15, was killed Monday night at a home on Remington Ridge Road. Investigators say both Slaughter and Tejonte Givan, 18, suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to hospitals. Slaughter later died from his injuries.
According to homicide detectives, Givan allegedly shot Slaughter during a dispute over money that was reportedly owed to him. Investigators believe Slaughter was also armed and was able to return fire, striking Givan.
Givan has been charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail. - KPRC2

H-1B FRAUD RING BUSTED IN CALIFORNIA

Sampath Rajidi and Sreedhar Mada, both 51, of Dublin, CA, just pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit visa fraud.

Rajidi ran two IT staffing firms (S-Team Software, Uptrend Technologies). Mada was the Chief Information Officer at UC Agriculture & Natural Resources in Davis.

Here’s the scheme:

They filed H-1B petitions claiming foreign workers would staff “University of California” projects. Mada used his UC title to make it look legit.

The jobs didn’t exist.

Once the visas were approved, they quietly marketed those workers to OTHER employers, having already secured the H-1B slots on false pretenses.

Both face up to 5 years + $250K fines. Sentencing is July 30.

The program isn’t broken by accident. It gets gamed on purpose.

Karmelo Anthony claims he cannot afford a lawyer for his appeal.

According to his appeal, Karmelo is, “too poor to employ counsel to represent me…”

Karmelo raised $625,000 for his legal battle, but some of those funds were used to help his family “relocate” after allegedly facing threats.

Karmelo’s family moved into luxurious gated community that reportedly costs roughly $900,000, according to the NYP.
