@wildforcongress@chelliepingree Platner was on route to do it. It was scandal after scandal and now we have an accusation against him so large, and I believe to be true, but his progressivism was favored in Maine. Troy Jackson has the experience. Shah, the Pingrees, Bellows, and Mills can get him elected.
@IlyaSomin It’s helpful when understand the purpose of that text when the folks who adopted it adopted it with that particular language. To make sense of the text, you have to identify its purpose, which you could only identify by turning to the history of the statute itself.
Young Amara watching her Aunt Kamala Harris accept her party's nomination for #POTUS is both deeply moving, as well as a powerful, inspirational symbol for little girls everywhere.

@NAEmmanuele I worry about these kind of hardcore guidelines; some students need to be in contact with parents regarding transportation and related matters. I would at least like for them to access their phones in between periods, so they can quickly assess and take care of personal stuff.
@NAEmmanuele To be fair, the style guides are for professional use, so it’s better to leave even the style guides to college; there, students pick up all of the niches. But at the secondary Ed level, they should be exposed to APA, so it isn’t a foreign language to them in college.
@jamielynncrofts @steve_vladeck No. I’ve just had faith in the Court. Sue me for being an optimist. Anyway, there was a right way for the Court to go here. And they didn’t. Therefore, it’s disappointing.
@jamielynncrofts @steve_vladeck Roberts (and now also Barrett) seemed to have gained the ability to apply common sense to interpreting the Constitution. I could trust them to hopefully make sensible interpretations of the text. Today, Roberts disappoints.
@AnthonyMKreis I mean this goes right at the heart of Scalia’s dissent in Morrison v. Olson, which the Court came back to a few times as a topic of discussion during argument. But really to promote a strong executive. And one where Congress does not impede on that strength.
