@tim_michell I've wondered the same. I thought maybe it signalled substitutions being made, but I don't think that's it as I feel like they could be heard before the 60th minute or later.
@MagebaWaseMbo87@sportskittles@NickRTFM Thanks for that intel! I shouldn't have assumed that 2 countries without much WC success historically wouldn't have much of a chance!
@martvibes@NickRTFM My only frame of reference is neither being a team with historic WC success, but I see SA has had some good Afcon head to head success 2-3 years ago. Surprised to learn that. Maybe it would only be dreamland if they faced Canada then. lol
@David_Moscrop It's too bad their R32 and R16 path is one of the most favourable. Bosnia and Herzegovina, then potentially the winner of G, which could be Egypt in the R16 - a country that had never advanced beyond the group stage until this World Cup. Not exactly historical superpowers.
@ozdale@mikeyjj Hoping for at least a draw for Australia! 2D vs. 2G looks more favourable as a R32 matchup than finishing 3rd and potentially facing a group winner from either E, I, or K!
@groundhopper_fc It's too bad the R32 bracket didn't work out better for you. Win your group and you get Morocco. Finish 2nd and you get Brazil. At least your potential R16 matchup would be nice (either Canada or South Africa). Enjoy the rest of the World Cup. All the best from Canada!
@Bougainvillefan Yes, we've heard our PM say many times that we need to be establishing relationships with more reliable partners (whether they're economic, trade, etc.), so it's definitely more than just ESC. This isn't a coincidence when we want to establish more ties with Europe.
@ServiceCanada_E I know that the warping and curling shouldn't affect the readability of the chip, etc. but you're really running the risk of putting Canadian citizens at risk that with a stricter border guard/gate agent, the condition of a warped and curled passport may not be accepted at all.
@ServiceCanada_E I like the maple leaf design on the cover, but I much prefer how thick the last passport cover was. Mine is almost 10 years old and still looks perfect. The entire document is so thin, it still looks like I just received it. I wish the new version could say that about it.
@ServiceCanada_E Are there any plans to make the current passport cover sturdier and not so flimsy? This is a formal, official, worldwide document that needs to be kept in fantastic condition to be accepted - yet the whole thing can be curled up and distorted in 2 minutes.
@1goodtern@atrupar@ActualNosferatu The same people who simultaneously believed it was a level 3 bioweapon and something beneficial to be infected with (repeatedly). Such geniuses!

@SadClubCommish For sure. 1F is still not decided, but I know what you mean. The silver lining for whoever comes through 1F/Morocco in the R32 is they'll think they're in dreamland getting a R16 against either Canada or South Africa. They'll be laughing at the matchup.
@Prominent_Bryan Part of me actually preferred that path. Tougher R32 (against the US), but 3rd place in our group gets a path with a R16 that's Winner of G and a 3rd place team. 1G may not even be Belgium. Could be Egypt. Much more favourable R16 than Morocco/Netherlands or whoever wins Group F.
