I would imagine it’s for robotaxi use? Make sure the wrong people don’t take the wrong rides? Not sure why else this would be needed. Or to allow riding without a phone or key? For example picking children up from school… doors unlock using b-pillar camera and then it drives once child is inside and buckled?
