@CatboyRocketry@SawyerMerritt@SpaceX It is a part of StarShield, the military-grade-security cousin of StarLink, operating entirely separate from StarLink.
@jbcourt@XFreeze It really illustrates the level of corruption in both the government and in Boeing leadership. Boeing was basically just milking NASA for all the $ they could get, and the senators in bed with Boeing were more than happy to oblige.
@AmericanAir@Starlink Now you just need to make the rest of the experience on your flights higher quality, otherwise many businesspeople will continue to choose Delta anyway (even if their Amazon-powered internet sucks).
@julienvm@elonmusk@bscholl Right, I think they could realistically get to 100% of the LOX and nitrogen produced on-site, but they may always have to ship in the methane from outside producers. Elon is very big on solar energy, so it is very likely Starbase will be 100% solar powered relatively soon. βοΈβ‘
@julienvm@elonmusk@bscholl A large propellant farm is already under construction at Starbase, and Starbase already gets a large portion of its energy from solar. More being built all the time, so the ratios will get even better over time.
@keithmeredith@elonmusk@bscholl Yes, it would still take off that quickly. During the broadcast, they said that the peak G-forces during launch were about 1.6 G. That's well within the comfort range for humans.
@rickpaulphoto@Grindalwald1@SpaceX "Was a fraction of the price to launch"
Incorrect. Adjusted for inflation, Delta II (in 2018) was around $137 million. Best estimates put a Starship test flight right at $100 million.
Delta II flew a total of 155 times in 40 years.
Falcon 9 flies that many in less than one.
@Earlofdemise94@glitch_prod YES, I immediately thought of Reboot while watching Gameoverse!
I loved that show, and loved where they were going with season 3...so sad it wasn't enough to prevent cancellation. π
@depressionlesss I have a cat about that age, and he's still my best buddy. Playful and affectionate, he runs around the house super-excited when it's bedtime, and snuggles up with us under the blankets. He swats at my feet to play as I walk by, and naps in my lap while I'm working. π»π₯°
@TechOperator Never be the one to say names first. Too easy for an impersonator to simply say "yes" to whatever names you give. Get THEM to say names first, and YOU confirm whether the names match what you expect.
And yes, always check for the matching license plate.
@MyBumble35245@SpaceX Alleged rocket scientists also claimed the first photos of a Raptor 3 engine were a publicity stunt of an unfinished engine with entire sections of essential hardware missing.
Then Elon posted a video of that "unfinished engine" successfully performing a full test-fire.
@NSFW_Data_Guy@Tesla_AI My address takes the car to the front of my house, but my garage entrance is down a back alley street behind my house. For situations like this (and yours), drop a pin where you actually want the car to go and park, then save THAT location as "Home". Problem solved.
@BovodioToad@ManaByte This is planned eventually, and critical for the permanent base planned to be built. But we're too early in the process for that yet. Need to establish the proof-of-concept for even getting sizable amounts of things and people on the surface first.
@kitty_smooches@XFreeze FSD is far too complex of a system to realistically be able to retrofit it to any older vehicles (especially non-Tesla vehicles). The best that could be done would be for other automakers to license the software from Tesla, so those automakers can also build FSD into their cars.
@kitty_smooches@XFreeze When seat belts or airbags were invented, did anyone make "kits" to retrofit them onto older cars? Or were those features simply included on most newer cars, until regulations required them on all new cars?
@kitty_smooches@XFreeze Safety and backwards-compatibility do not correlate. That's not how technology works.
This is a wildly ignorant request/statement.

Don't waste money & resources on bigger batteries, or faster charging infrastructure. Invest in even more efficient tech, which makes everything about the car even better. It makes the battery last longer and feel like it charges faster too, without adding more weight
