@NDgrower Bettors were right. Beans not down too bad yet. IDK, tariffs in October were super bearish, tariffs getting removed are bearish now, go figure 🤷♂️
@NDgrower Betting sites put out a line to engage potential bettors. I wouldn't put any weight into it being an accurate predictor. Also, it would have farther reaching effects - LBJ implemented a 25% tariff on foreign made pickups that still stands today (AKA the Chicken Tax) for example.
@ISchmidtFaced @NDSodbuster Not that I know of. Malt or feed has always been a straight cash bid. Busch used to figure out their price and announce it at big iron and that sort of set the market. Those days are gone forever now I suppose.
@CRNAfarmer2 Back when we used the air seeder in high residue we set it for 180. With overlap it always ended up approaching 200 per seeded acre. Keep in mind NDSU writes these for all farmers, so even the guy with a 50 year old drill has good results.
@JFrye_Ag Not entirely certain on this but I have heard if the machine was originally manufactured in the United States it’s not a problem but potential import fees arise if it is a machine that was originally manufactured in Canada coming into the states.
@RoncerayDan The engines in the E series are spendy to work on. Anyone with B and C series was happy if they kept them and didn't trade up. But the 13.5's in the Deeres are far from perfect. Neither of those are great tractors.
@CRNAfarmer2 It’s a federal farm program issue, and metro states don’t want it. And even the rural farm states in the corn belt don’t want your sloughs drained even though they did theirs 50+ years ago. The only possibility is a state solution I.e. state mitigation bank.
@CRNAfarmer2 I adopted a new perspective on the issue when I met a farmer from Manitoba at a tiling seminar. He said he'd love to have the situation we have. He said they are only allowed to drain minor sloughs (1s and 2s he called them) and the rest you can't no matter what.
@CRNAfarmer2 If not in USFW easement you can do whatever you want to it. You can even stay in the voluntary farm program if you mitigate the acres. Our neighbors to the north in Canada would love to have a farm program or the freedom to decide. They have neither.
@dportfarmer Had one act up during wheat harvest, it was a software issue and has been running good since. They get messed up if they get shut off during regen. But still frustrating 2hrs and a service call for something completely useless.
@ISchmidtFaced I know exactly what you mean. But they are there and their cost structure demands that price. If they could make more for selling them for less they would but they can’t. It’s like buying an $8 hot dog at a ballgame, makes absolutely zero sense but people still do.
