@_redheadmermaid I feel like if you read between the lines and have even a basic understanding of psychology, so many behaviors witnessed in public start to make sense.
I'm convinced, people act in certain ways in public to cope for something they're not getting regularly with family and friends
@RyanHyattMedia There's a reason every great rock/metal song about New Jersey or written by a band from there is about getting out of it as quick as possible... ๐
@TheChad10@DanIsett People literally just push things across on here in very black and white terms (sometimes outright lying) because they pay for a checkmark, they're entirely captured by their audience, and and there's financial and algorithmic incentive to do so.
Wild times we live in.
@ShelbyCHilliard For sure. We could all use a chill pill when it comes to sports.
I try to hold two things true at once. For one, I love Tech and want to see them striving to win, always. And two, it truly is just a game. The clock hits zero, the innings run out, etc. and life goes on.
@SeeingScarlet_ Feels like women's hoops could use the same treatment as well. Not sure the issue is as egregious as can show in softball at times, but my mind goes to some of these MTE's being held in what look like high school gyms or, at worst, are a meeting room in a Vegas hotel.
@shagbark_hick Color of clothing, and I think the individualist expression that comes with it, I think is something that may also go hand in hand with weather and climate. Lighter colors and white sneakers are much easier to wear when you're not dealing with snow, dirt, mud, etc. constantly.
@shagbark_hick Could be. At the very least, there's less dressing for the seasons in terms of layering and much more around colors and materials of clothing. Especially in the south/southeast people are often wearing pastel colors in the warm months and sometimes seersucker for formal wear.
@DanIsett That said, it does feel like sooner than later, there needs to be some more clear direction. How they make that happen, I don't have sound answers for.
@DanIsett I feel like it's a form of crisis communication that everyone is trying to engage in but, without a precedent in this sort of ruling, it's completely uncharted territory. My degree was PR and even as I'm not a practitioner myself, I feel for what everyone involved.
@girdley Tons of tri-state folks live in the major metros of the state now as well. Even if not living in San Antonio, they're absolutely making the drive in for it.
@ShelbyCHilliard@ncaasoftballa I've been unable to find this info, but how many signees were in the freshman class last year? I count five in this year's and four so far for 2027, and I've been thinking that two years into this staff and the stability provided, you likely seek a little less from the portal.
