However, Christians need to know how to live out their faith in a secular world that is hostile to their theology.
We need more preaching that equips people to do this.
In dialoguing with a student in my New Testament class about the differences in the sermons found in the book of Acts and what is preached today, I came up with a phrase that captures the reality of “watering down” messages:
“Some Pastors tend to be more concerned about getting people in the seats than getting them prepared to minister in the streets.”
By no means is this to imply our task is street evangelizing with signs and bullhorns.
The love of my life and I celebrate 18 years together today. We didn’t have cellphones or digital cameras in 2001 so all our photos are old school analog and need to scanned to be posted.… https://t.co/Br7srEnV8e

@SayersMark Excited for the book that came today. I’m just wondering if I will have to read it twice since I usually have to listen to ‘This Cultural Moment’ twice to take it all in. 😄
So the reactions are: " I love it!" and "I prefer the old way."
We hear ya. We are of the same mind(s).
Looks like we just hooked ourselves into creating 2 versions every time.
Loving the song: ‘Another in The Fire’ by @hillsongunited ....“And should I ever need reminding
What power set me free
There is a grave that holds no body
And now that power lives in me”
Parenting can be tough. Then God gives you small wins, such as the day your 8 yr old wants you to teach her how to journal and highlight passages in her Bible… https://t.co/IUFfS6S5Tk
