Did a Texas School Trustee Continue to Receive Payments After She Resigned Midyear?
A community member received information from the Texas Education Agency that matches data on https://t.co/A9ZFe2AvPh that apparently shows @tiffanie4rrisd Tiffanie Harrison, current @RoundRockISD Trustee, continued to receive her teacher salary from the District AFTER she was elected in November of 2020. Tiffanie took her office in late November of 2020, but records obtained from a community member show that Tiffanie continued to receive a salary worth thousands of dollars while she was a sitting board member until the end of the school year in 2021 even though she had resigned her teaching position in November when she was sworn in as a Trustee. Any salary payment after Tiffanie was sworn in as a Trustee to the district would violate Texas law.
โIf the employee is elected and wants to accept the office, the common law doctrine of incompatibility will prohibit the employee from continued employment by the district. At that point, the individual must either resign the employment or decline the office. See Tex. Attโy Gen. LA-114 (1975) (concluding that a teacher must relinquish that position if elected to the board of the same district).โ โ Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) https://t.co/AB3Lt9PUEu
The community member has requested Harrisonโs salary information on August 22, 2024, from Round Rock ISD but the district has refused to fulfill the official request (2025-071). The request stated: โPlease provide any and all payments made, including but not limited to settlements, salaries, reimbursements, and/or other payments for services, contracts or agreements and/or entitles that employ the following trustees: Amy Weir, Amber Feller, Amber Feller Landrum, Amber Landrum, Tiffanie Harrison, Esteban 'Chuy' Zarate, and/or Alicia Markum. Date range is January 1, 2019, through August 22, 2024.โ Note that since the district has not responded in the legal amount of time this Public Information Request is out of compliance with the law. @KenPaxtonTX

Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 5:30pm Danielle Weston for Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees Place 7 and I will be back in the Round Rock ISD boardroom at Round Rock High School 100 Lecture Hall, 300 N Lake Creek Drive, Round Rock, TX 78681. This time though we are there as community members that are concerned that $10 Million of taxpayer money was spent illegally per TEC 44.006 WITHOUT oversight and approval of the board. We are asking for the following reasonable solutions:
โ A forensic audit of the district to determine how, when, and why the expenditures exceeded budgetary control and were spent out of compliance with TEC 44.006. This would include ensuring the findings of the annual audit are correct and in-depth details on each line item expenditure over the budgeted amount.
โ A public release of the findings of the forensic Audit
โ A public release of details of who authorized all expenditures over budgeted amounts.
โ Publicly release policy updates to ensure this type of noncompliance does not occur in the future
โ Public release and report of how the board of trustees was not made aware of these budget overruns for many months after the June 2024 closing of the budget.
โ Public statement of why the board of trustees took no action to hold anyone accountable for this noncompliance issue of over $10 Million.

The @RRISD community is questioning why THREE officials @HafedhAzaiez@tiffanie4rrisd were in New York City this week? While the same officials scream that schools are underfunded it has been reported they headed across the country for a trip to the Big Apple.
A tipster from the finance team in Round Rock ISD stated that during the workday a large group of employees gathered to remotely watch these three officials as they signed to sell millions of dollars of school bonds in New York City. How much money did this whole ordeal cost the students of Round Rock? Not only in terms of travel costs but also in time of these highly compensated employees?
Why was this not broadcast nor messaged to the community if it was such a joyous time of celebration? No pictures? No press? I wonder why?
#txlege parents want education dollars to go to the classroom, but these people hide their trips and where they spend the money so voters nor Trustees can make informed decisions.
Note: Next Thursday, Feb 13, at 5:30pm I will be sitting in front of these same people with Danielle Weston for Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees Place 7 at a Level 3 complaint hearing so they can explain how $10 Million was spent illegally last year WITHOUT board approval and hidden from the community during the time the district wanted to pass a $1Billion dollar bond. We already know they will have excuses, and our reasonable requests will be denied but maybe just maybe one day #txlege and @teainfo will do their jobs and hold these districts accountable to parents, taxpayers, AND honest Trustees.

We never got a zoning hearing. The courts claimed no jurisdiction over our lawsuits. We had to host our own town halls when the cityโs were one-sided. Other would-be solutions stalled. The shelter has opened, yet we remain vigilant for our neighborsโ sake.
Happy 4th anniversary.

@bradswail@NewsRadioKLBJ What do yall think are the reasons why Fort Worth passed Austin TX for 4th in Texas population? Atx slides from 4th to 5th most populous city in Texas.

.@statesman You could DOUBLE your readership in a couple of months if you adjusted your trajectory a bit. Happy to provide any advice, but we think you know what to do.
We gave you a perfectly qualified and realistic option in @bettsforda. Instead, you endorsed Garza. Enjoy the obstructionism and disdain for the First Amendment.
Thanks to YOUR efforts, we all kept the Billion Dollar Bond well-under a billion dollars ... minus inflation, anyway. Great work during a general election and with voters experiencing "ballot fatigue."
