The most underrated real estate fact about San Diego is its geography.
US/Mexico border to the south. Ocean to the west. Desert and mountains to the east. A massive Marine Corps base to the north.
San Diego's precious land, with the best weather in the country, is completely land-locked, and they aren't making more of it.
People are making new AI companies every single day.
They're not making more land with 70-degree weather year round.
Scarcity plus the best climate in the country is a moat you cannot build, replicate, or print more of. The dirt is made of gold here.
I was broke when we started Drillinginfo. Working out of a rented apartment. A journey from the bottom wealth centile to the top wealth centile over a 25 year time span. Along the way, creating thousands of jobs which paid for thousands of vehicles, mortgages, educations, holidays, and at least 50 new millionaires. Was an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year one year, but more importantly, a judge for the next several. A grand total of 0 "silver spooners" won during my tenure judging. Never saw them. The main demographic I encountered was either someone who was born poor here to first generation immigrants or was a first generation immigrant with a burning fire in their bellies to a) do something meaningful in life, and b) NOT be poor. Immigration isn't a problem. Illegally letting in people that want to destroy the American Dream for others IS. That's why I am such a prick about it.
Putin will never enter into any real negotiations with Ukraine. For him, it means the end - either political death, or physical death. When the Russian side speaks of a readiness to negotiate, it is merely a diplomatic tactic to drag out the war. Russians understand the word "negotiation" as a synonym for Ukraine's capitulation.
There is no "window for negotiations", there is only a window of opportunity to force the Russians into peace by strength.
The U.S. goods trade deficit soared over 28% in May, jumping to $105.8 billion, the largest since Mar. 2025, driven by a 5.4% fall in exports and a 3.6% rise in imports. This flies in the face of Trump's claim that his tariffs will help reduce America's persistent trade deficits.
Inflation is now so bad that even computer and cell phone prices are rising sharply. Electronics were one of the few places consumers got relief, as productivity gains offset government-created inflation. The Fed can't hike rates enough to put this genie back in the bottle.
Traditional Democrats are finished. Their card is punched. They will be replaced, or more likely absorbed, by a Mamdani-led Democratic Socialist bureaucracy in short order.

How can we doom when God literally says...
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9
Trump’s flip to suddenly being tough on Israel, ending his war on Iran that he started, threatening big oil to lower gas prices that he caused to skyrocket, and red meat tough takes are ALL a result of really bad polling that he can no longer ignore.
Also, if he had stuck with America First campaign promises, the polling would’ve never been bad in the first place.
The craziest thing about Quake is how many modern FPS games originate from it somehow
Valve's Source engine was a modified Quake 1 engine which spawned Half Life, Counter Strike, DOTA, Apex Legends, Titanfall
The entire Call of Duty and Warzone series originates from a modified Quake 3 engine that's continously iterated since!
American mother says she can’t have a second kid, not because she doesn’t want one but because she can’t afford it
This mother bought one can of formula and one box of diapers. It was $92
“Who in the f*ck decided we could make diapers and formula, the 2 most needed things when you have a child, the most expensive things on this planet? These 3 things just costed me $92. Oh, you want me to start thinking about having a second kid? Simply how? How? I can't afford that. Abso-f*cking-lutely not”
I looked into this, over the last 10 years
- Diapers have increased 50%+ in price
- Baby Formula is up about 40%, sometimes way more if you want without seed oils
- A better brand can cost $52+ and only last about 5 days
We need to make having a baby much more affordable
