Full statement by the President of the Republic of Kosovo

The Republic of Kosovo wholeheartedly welcomes the recognition from Syria and the statement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and the Syrian Arab Republic. The Republic of Kosovo expresses its deep gratitude for the decision by the Syrian Arab Republic to recognize Kosovo’s independence and we thank President Ahmed al-Sharaa for his leadership and his support for the people of Kosovo.

This truly is a decision of historic significance between the two states, based on mutual respect for the long struggle for freedom, mutual recognition of sovereignty, territorial integrity and commitment to bilateral cooperation and establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Republic of Kosovo is deeply appreciative and grateful for the support of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. His leadership and guidance have made the results of our trilateral meeting a historic one for both the people of Kosovo and the people of Syria.

The people of Kosovo and the people of Syria have sacrificed for too long to achieve their freedom. It is in recognition of that suffering and sacrifice and with the highest commitment of supporting each other internationally and through bilateral relations that we achieve this agreement today here in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and with the support and leadership of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

President-elect Trump is expected to name Marco Rubio as US Secretary of State.

In one of his major foreign policy speeches, Rubio emphasized:

"[The American Armed Forces] stopped Nazism, and Communism, and other evils such as Serbian ethnic cleansing."

John Ratcliffe will be the new CIA director, he is known for his strong ties to the Albanian community in the US. He spoke at a Albanian Diaspora forum in NY and had meetings with officials from 🇽🇰 and 🇦🇱.

These are good signs but too early to tell what posture they might take.

Trump officially nominated Marco Rubio to be Secretary of State and Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor (now Jake Sullivan).

Rubio is pro NATO and has called out serbian ethnic cleansing.
Waltz is a China hawk and has questioned Bidens failure to deter russian aggression.

These are just my observations and obviously it will also depend on who he chooses as his Secretary of State.

In Trumps first term it was @mikepompeo who was advocating strongly against russia-iran-china, the axis which serbia basically belongs to.
