@LaDonnaRitter3 Yes!! You are resilient and loving. I'm glad to have you as a team member and next-door neighbor at school. We encourage and give each other motivation every day. #NCBTChat#EatTeachLove
A5. In spite of the uncertainty, anxiety, and stress, I can still go into my classroom every day and give my students the love, support, education, and kindness that they all deserve. #NCBTChat#EatTeachLove
Q4. That I always show them love, support, and kindness even in the midst of a crisis. I am also a parent of a child with special needs so I try my best to be the loving and caring adult figure that I hope my own child would have while in a crisis at school. #NCBTChat
@lpapsun I remembered when I worked at the facility that many of the people that lived there never received cards and gifts. I wanted to make sure that they knew that I’ve never stopped loving and caring about them. Many times people in mental health facilities are overlooked. #NCBTchat
A3. My class participated in a service project last week and created Valentine's Day cards for a local mental health facility that I use to work for. My students really enjoyed the activity and we will continue to send them cards at least once every 2 months. #NCBTChat
A3. The service project was wonderful because it also allowed me to teach a lesson about acts of love and kindness. I was able to help my students in my EC self-contained classroom learn the importance of kindness to all people. #NCBTChat
@AmyLaughter Yes it’s a life saver because if I don’t meal prep I’m usually just having a protein shake and crackers and that doesn’t hold me all day. #NCBTChat
Q1. I meal prep early on Sunday mornings before my daughter wakes up to ensure that I am eating well during the week. I'm not doing too well with resting. Working in an EC self-contained classroom ensures that I am getting regular exercise throughout the day. #NCBTChat

Q5. The progress that my EC students were able to achieve while shifting from each Plan last school year and navigating through the pandemic exceeded my expectations as well as the parental involvement dramatically increased. #NCBTChat
A4. In my EC self-contained classroom I often do different things incorrectly in order to show my students that it’s ok to make mistakes. I tell my students that mistakes are a part of learning and growing. As an EC teacher I have learned to adapt lessons very quickly. #NCBTChat
A3. My expectation is to incorporate some of the SEL practices that I teach my students into my life. Often times we provide our students with so much grace, support and love that we can forget to do the same for ourselves when we are frustrated and overwhelmed. #NCBTChat
A2. I go over classroom expectations at the beginning of the day and I explain my expectations for behaviors as well as my expectations with academics. As an EC self-contained teacher it is important to also give my students reminders throughout the day as well. #NCBTChat
@TinaStarrNC@holmes_rhonda Yes. It really makes me feel good to be able to provide phone instruction to my parents. It has also allowed me to build a better rapport with my students and parents. #NCBTChat
@holmes_rhonda A5. I will try to find a way for flipgrid and other useful apps to be adapted for students that have special and diverse needs and services. #NCBTChat
