What a couple of days we’ve had working with local primary schools to plant trees along the edge of the new Muirfield Park path at Juniper Green. This improvement has been funded through the Ian Findlay Path Fund from Walking Scotland and we’re delighted to have held these events
A big thank you to Royal London, who volunteered with us at Gyle Park. The group did a fantastic job of establishing tree rings around orchard trees, providing care for young trees so they don't get swamped out by Creeping Thistle, and carrying out a litter pick around the park.
Thank you to the cubs and scouts from 8th Braid Salaam Scouts who came along to help plant over 100 trees in the Broomhouse area. It was a great opportunity to get local children involved in helping to look after our greenspaces.
A team from Eversheds Sutherland came out to join us for one of our last tree planting sessions of the season. They planted 135 native broadleaf saplings, giving a real boost to the young woodland area at Silverknowes Park.@ESgloballaw
We had a blustery but sunny day tree and bulb planting with Enterprise and Trees for Cities to create two new woodland areas in Sighthill Park. The group planted 245 native trees and interspaced 900 Snowdrop bulbs between them, providing a valuable food source for pollinators.
Come along to the Community Tree Planting Event, Saturday March the 14th at 10am. Help to build the nature corner as part of the wider Niddrie Burn Restoration.
This week, CGI came and planted 450 trees to create a new woodland at Hunters Hall Park. A huge thank you goes to the team for all their hard work improving this greenspace in challenging conditions. We are looking forward to seeing this new woodland thrive.
We had a fantastic volunteer session with i4 Product Design in Swanston. We maintained just under 300m of hedge line which we planted a few years ago, alongside planting 75 trees ranging from Hazel, Silver Birch, Downy Birch, Wild Cherry and Sessile Oak.
We are gearing up for our final planting of Tree Time trees this season, so if you would like to order a planted tree–either a memorial or street tree– please place your order by the 14th of February 2026. @Edinburgh_CC@EdinOutdoors

At the weekend, some of our Tree Time volunteers were tree planting at Little France Park. We restocked trees which had failed with Downy Birch whips and gave the many surviving trees a helping hand through weeding around the bases and firming up tree stakes.
Earlier this year we planted 12 street trees on Abercorn Crescent thanks to your generous donations. The trees have come into leaf and look wonderful! Thank you @AbercornSC who have been watering the trees to help them thrive. @Edinburgh_CC#Treetime#EdinburghMillionTreeCity
