#VoteBlue for those willing to respond to climate change, not Trump who is not willing to respond but supports more oil and gas production for fuel that is burned and that is contributing to higher temperatures around the world
There is a "machine" here that extracts CO2 from the atmosphere, produces oxygen, builds itself, is cheap and additionally delights us with its splendor and beauty.💚🌱🌿☘️🌲🌳🍀💚

Help Democrat Dave Upthegrove get through the recount of the primary vote for WA Public Lands Commissioner. He is only 51 votes ahead of the 3rd place finisher. GOP will be challenging ballots to try to knock him down to 3rd place so two Republicans would be on Nov ballot.
Elections attorneys and additional campaign staff to protect our interests in the recount cost money. We can't have our public lands fall under GOP control. Can you make a donation to help the campaign with these significant unanticipated expenses? https://t.co/RpzXMY89EX
Just when you thought it was over:
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED in every county over many days STARTING SATURDAY to help monitor the recount process on behalf of the Upthegrove campaign. Training provided. Sign up at the link and we will be in touch. Please share

It is the closest primary election in Washington state history. Democrat Dave Upthegrove is up by 51 votes over 3rd place finisher in the Public Lands Commissioner race. The ballots will now undergo a mandatory paper ballot recount. https://t.co/qTI56zo9FU
Deadline to vote is Tuesday August 6th. Ballots must be postmarked Tuesday August 6th or put in a Dropbox by 8 PM. This is a crowded race with 5 Democrats and 2 Republicans and low voter turnout. Help Dave move on to the November ballot. Thanks.

Our @POTUS Joe Biden has been one of the most 🌳-mendous leaders in our nation’s history. From Executive Orders to brokering historic forest wins with the Inflation Reduction Act & Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Biden-Harris administration has catalyzed HUGE progress on private forestland conservation, mature & old growth forests, wildfire resilience, reforestation, urban forests & #TreeEquity, forest products innovation, and so much more.
🙏 will never be enough from us here @AmericanForests and all of the partners now putting these forest solutions into action.

YES, plant more trees for environmental equity where they are scarce. Also retain as many existing trees as possible in all communities for climate resilience and ecosystem services. Don't clearcut our existing urban forest trees.
The SHADE Act, which I've introduced with @RepRubenGallego, would create federal grants for state/local governments & nonprofits to plant trees in overburdened communities.
Read more about how this can address disparities in heat-related illnesses here:

For urban forests it is not just planting more trees. It's also maximizing the retention of existing trees which are providing ecoservices now like reducing heat island impacts. Build new housing in the urban forest, don't clearcut it as cities grow.
It was wonderful to join @AmericanForests at the Capitol this afternoon to discuss how we can keep our communities cooler as extreme heat events become more common, and heat-related illness takes more lives.
The solution is as simple as planting trees.
What's your vision of the future of life on planet earth?
Is there an apocalypse coming just like in many futuristic films, like The Postman or The Road?
Food is not simply fuel. Food is the summation of Earth’s biomass. Every single life form, including humans, is ultimately an item of food for another being: whether raw, cooked, or disintegrated.
We are in a situation where all ecosystems are rapidly vanishing, meaning fewer life forms, which means less food, which in turn means even fewer life forms.
This is a self-degenerative process which humans began tens of thousands of years ago, and which has reached nauseating acceleration. We have been rolling downhill for thousands of years, but are now free-falling down a biodiversity cliff so steep that, in geological time, this could be over quite soon, and very abruptly

When this photo of US cavalry soldiers posing in front of a tree known as the Grizzly Giant was taken (1900), no one of us were born. Let us preserve it for future generations and continue to write the history of this tree which still stands.💚🌱☘️🌿🌳🌲🍀💚
