Our mission is to plant, protect, and promote trees for public benefit throughout Houston. To date, TFH has planted almost 600,000 in the greater Houston area.
Have you ever heard of the Purple Martin?
Fun Fact: They have different migratory patterns depending on their age and gender. Older males usually migrate first followed by older females. So, the oldest bird of this species usually gets the best nesting site.
With the temps at an all-time high & lower rain chances, be sure to watch for trees in heat stress. Signs can be wilting leaves or stems and irregular yellowing of leaves.
What can I do to help? Water is their friend, but remember water on the drip line and not on their trunk!
HUGE s/o to planting partners @MillionTreesMIA,
@TreesAtlanta, + @TreesForHouston for putting 🌳's in the ground in local communities affected by floods, urban heat islands, and other obstacles due to decreased tree canopy.
