It just doesn't hold up as an adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front. Maybe as a standalone ww1 movie it'd be fine. Also what in the genuine fuck was that scene with a kid shooting Kat?? And the ending???? The changes from the original were such a gigantic downgrade.

So I finally watched 2022 All Quiet on the Western Front. Is it LESS dogshit if you haven't read the original and thus have no expectations? Because omfg I'm so mad, what a disappointment of a movie. The only good thing about it is Paul's actor being perfect. 😭

Like it felt so shallow compared to the original, and wtf was that editing and sound design anyways. The le so tense bwao waooww sounds between transitions? The excess of wide establishing shots? Like it felt like it was trying way too hard and missed the mark so hard.
