In the dark, distant analogue days of late 70's Manchester, a beat combo called The Trend were attracting lots of attention around the local venues. And so it was that on Saturday 31st March 1979 BBC Radio Manchester parked their Outside Broadcast Van in front of the Gransmoor .
The Trend gig at the Gransmoor that night was broadcast live throughout the two hours of Saturday Rock presented by Peter Sharratt and John Woodruff.
Luckily the whole broadcast was recorded back at Broadcasting House on Oxford Road and that tape has now seen the light of day
