@charliersmith1@parkrunUK It’s amazing what are capable of when you get going. My wonderful friend used to say “one foot in front of the other”. Keep going!
@ProfRAScolyer Just finished your book. A remarkable read. Whilst I don’t have cancer, I have had more than 70 surgeries. Amazing what you can learn from the journey of others in how they deal with the hand dealt to them. I may not be aiming for park runs, I maintain step counts as a goal.
@charliersmith1 It is the gap between a stimulus and a response that determines a person’s character.
Glad you are here to tell your story and that you didn’t act on your ideations.
My suicidal ideations have been a result of the mechanical hardware in my brain not working properly.
@carolinenewson I know it is a very different loss to that of a child. My wonderful friend, with the same condition as I have died nearly five years ago. I needed to change to the number of years instead of the months. So it is four years and 10 months & not 58 months.
Grief is so personal.
Just enrolled in a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies.
Never too old to study. Keeps my brain active.
Having been through considerable medical trauma throughout my life it will be interesting to see how I can make use of this and learn from it.
Need to stay accountable
