Watch how most people talk about their future:
me → my → mine → I
Now watch the ones who actually pull ahead:
them → they → who else → how do I serve
Adversity doesn't exist to toughen you. It exists to expand how much you can carry for other people.
What had to die before anything moved:
needing to be right → gone
calling discomfort a catastrophe → gone
mistaking comfort for progress → gone
the plan I was too proud to drop → gone
who I was at 25 → gone
None of it went quietly.
The story we're sold:
adversity → the devil → punishment → survive it
What I've come to believe:
adversity → God → curriculum → become someone who can carry more
Nobody gets handed a weight heavier than what they asked to be able to lift.
The first setback → the hardest one you'll ever face
Not because it's the biggest:
setback 1 → zero tools
setback 2 → one tool s
etback 10 → a toolbox
setback 40 → you barely flinch
Same size problem. Different size person.
3 questions, in order:
where am I going →
why does it matter to anyone but me →
who do I have to become
Most people: answer 1 → skip 2 → never touch 3
That's the whole story.
It's not willpower. It's won't power.
Willpower → what you'll add
Won't power → what you'll bury
Everyone I've watched make it wasn't stronger.
They were subtractive.
The current version of you has to die.
Not "improve." Not "optimize." → Die.
Because the thing you want is only solvable by a person who doesn't exist yet.
And that person can't be born while you're still standing there.
100s of times a day, you kill a version of yourself.
When you played it safe, you bet against the person who didn't.
When you sold, you bet against the person who held. You'll never meet either of them. ↓
5% chance of rain. It rained. Was the forecast wrong?
Most people say yes. Most people are grading their entire life this way — and it's why they keep repeating bad calls over and over ↓
