Coaches, our words matter.
I had a young coach on my staff who didn’t know much about football but he sure knew how to encourage the kids.
Most practice days I could hear him say a phrase that still sticks with me to this day.
“I see you!”
After a good play or a player gave great effort you would hear him say this phrase, usually yelling it from across the field for all to hear.
“I see you Johnny, nice block!”
What’s your phrase? What are you known to say?
Hopefully whatever it is, your phrase is positive and full of energy?!
As a human, this should be your mentality. Every opportunity, every experience, every success or failure should help you grow and learn to be a better person.
As a Play Caller, you learn from each and every experience.
You continue to evolve as a Coach.
Your Systems continue to evolve.
You are constantly trying to find the next element that can give your guys an advantage.
