Sam, you’re a very intelligent and gifted man and a great defender of the faith. What you’re doing with these constant attacks on others is not doing the community any good. What is your end goal with these attacks and what do you expect it to be? Do you think what you are doing will make a change? Perhaps social media has taken a strong hold on you as it does to many people. Take a step back, slow down, and focus on the Lord’s work. Of course you don’t have to listen to me, but I care about you enough to express my sincere thoughts to you.
That sounds nice, but it doesn’t line up with the actual sources.
Quran 9:29 tells Muslims to fight Jews and Christians until they pay the jizya while they are humbled. Ibn Kathir, one of the most respected classical scholars, explains that “humbled” means they are to be left disgraced and belittled, and that Muslims are not supposed to honor them or treat them as equals. He even quotes the hadith where the Prophet says not to initiate the greeting to Jews and Christians, and if you meet them on the road, force them to the narrowest part of it.
People often try to say this only applied during a specific war, or only to certain groups at Tabuk. But Ibn Kathir doesn’t treat it that way. He presents it as the ruling that came after Arabia was already under Muslim control. The early jurists didn’t treat it as a one-time emergency order either. They turned it into the ongoing legal framework for how Jews and Christians were to live under Muslim rule.
You can say most Muslims today don’t act on this, and that’s fair. But you can’t claim the religion itself was founded on pure love and peace when a late Quranic verse, the major classical commentary on it, and the legal tradition that followed all point in a different direction. If those sources are “not true Islam,” then the people making that claim need to explain why the classical authorities got it so wrong.
@endhi_peekedhi Almost everything was built/made/invented by a kafir 😂 They want to enjoy the benefits of what kafirs contribute and then criticize them
