The difference between “Multiple people shot at protests” and “White militiaman shoots multiple protestors” is worlds apart. I’m not a journalist, but this seems like a pretty good time to lose the passive voice. #Kenosha
Even after Dustin Dupre was arrested in 2003 for assaulting his ex-wife, he kept his job as a Minneapolis police officer. Even after he was charged with puncturing a woman’s tire in Cottage Grove in 2017 in a fit of road rage, he kept his job. 🧵https://t.co/VVjz79dNoj
Minneapolis police set up fake social media accounts and posed as members of the public to criticize elected officials and surveil Black activists and organizations *without a public safety objective*, according to the state Dept of Human Rights investigation.
Read the MN Dept Of Human Rights report on MPD. But definitely read this thread. I knew a lot of this was true. But it is so important it’s documented through an investigation.
@ziibiing haha the church denomination I grew up going to used these all the time. Normally we’d pass around these shot glass trays. But when that was less logistically possible (like retreats, summer camps, etc.) we’d use those. It’s like Jesus, but the Lunchables Edition 🤷🏻♂️
📺WATCH: Our system of public safety should make us safer - not put us and those we love in more danger. When the MPD was called to help her brother who was facing a mental health crisis, @Lmayjohnson had to de-escalate police officers too ill-equipped to respond. #YesOn2 (1/2)
RENTER STORIES: Patrice is a homeowner, and she wants her neighbors who are renters to be able to stay in their homes instead of being displaced by rising rents.
Please QT/RT to SHARE this video & Vote YES on Question 3 before November 2nd for rent stabilization. #YesOn3
If a group was created to support a ballot question to concentrate power in the mayor's office, 100% funded by a single donor — the Chamber of Commerce — with more cash ($130,000) than even the most competitive city council campaigns, would that be a red flag to anyone?
@DSchrantz@mrotzie Similar-ish vibe: someone emailed Home to Stay this week to say they’re a renter and voting no on Q3. A quick search shows they live in Edina. 😑
Our FINAL campaign ad is LIVE. It may be humorous, but it gets right to the heart of the issue, and why we need everyone in Minneapolis to Vote Yes on Question 3 before 11/2.
Please RT to spread the word. Ask your friends & neighbors to vote #YesOn3 and follow @HomeToStayMPLS
