Remembering Sinn Féin activist Colm Mulgrew who died for Ireland, 5 June 1976 - 50 years ago today. He was murdered by a UDA death squad aligned with the state.
Columba James Mulgrew, better known as Colm, was born in Killybearn, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone on 8 January 1950.
At 7:55pm on 5 June 1976 death squad arrived at his home and shot him three times.
Colm was not initially claimed as a Republican activist in the tense environment of the time. He is buried a short distance away from the New Republican Plot in Milltown Cemetery.
