Last year I went into a store in the mall and interacted with a salesman who asked for my name. I told him it was Patricia and turns out his name was Patrick! Thought I had some Irish luck on my side, but he abruptly ended the interaction and left me hanging! So much for that☘️🤦🏻‍♀️

I just got a phone call from a very nice lady who told me that she was calling from "Card Services". She said that a credit card had been applied for in my name and she noticed that the applicant's address is in Michigan while records indicate that I live in Florida. She told me that she was transferring me to a supervisor who would confirm my information so that they could put an alert in the credit bureau for me. Little did they know that I handle fraud at work and that's not how any of this works. Oddly, when I told her that one of my work duties is fraud detection and resolution she hung up. I don't like to think of myself as "elderly" elderly (I'm 67) but this is exactly the kind that many of my older members here at the credit union fall for. NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO OUT OVER THE PHONE OR VIA EMAIL. No legitimate business will ask for personal information like that.
