@GalavantingGuru@aaronsmith Really? You do realise how much tax you’d lose? EG. I’ve paid a 7 figure tax bill every year for the last 10 years or so. PRs, on average, pay significantly higher tax than long-term citizens because they’re mostly “skilled”. They’re subsidising your lifestyle (on average).
@teepee987456321@aaronsmith You do realise that if I become a permanent resident I have to WAIT at least 2 years before I can apply for citizenship? And I need to show that I lived for at least 2 of those 5 preceding years in Australia to do so. Would you require me to rent for that 2 year waiting period?
@lucxsronald Road Worlds? Surely possible with the right course and scenario. A GT? I can’t see it - it would require bad luck for the tier 1 GC riders, a course with close to zero TT kms and would probably only be possible at the Vuelta (or the Giro if he forsakes the spring classics).
@KeriFoxMF@TrueFactsStated In reality, currently the most globally powerful mafia is not Sicilian, but Calabrian, with the ‘Ndrangheta. The Albanian mafia are powerful in their own right as distributors of illicit drugs throughout Europe. The ‘Ndrangheta are the big importers and suppliers via S America.
@EudaimoniaEsq In your 1st bullet point you’ve already shown yourself up. If you must wear a business suit (I rarely bother), a proper tailored suit will usually involve a tailored buttoned waist, with clasps, no belt. Kids, just bring your brain and energy to work, we can figure the rest out.
@EnergyCredit1 Another useful by-product is there’s virtually zero crime… I guess it’s hard to escape anywhere on a pushbike / on-foot within a walled town and the oldies are watching everyone and everything!
@EnergyCredit1 I’m convinced walkable (and cyclable) towns make for better communities, esp for older people. They live longer and are healthier and happier. I have a place in Lucca where all the oldies walk and ride their bikes to go shopping and they interact with 3 generations daily.
@jeremycwhittle I’d concede outstanding “GC” rider of his generation. To use your hypothetical, how many more classics and one day races would VDP have won in Pogacar’s absence? He’d be in the pantheon of one of the greatest classics riders (arguably he still is).
@JamesGillespieX@thinkingshivers Unless they’re going to court, I couldn’t give a stuff. A fair number of my partners wear trainers most days. Other than Brookfield (they seem to have a pretty strict uniform) no clients care either.
@JimDear322290@OliverKamm@FT Jim, dear, you’re drowning. In such scenarios try swimming away towards the shore (quietly) and stop shouting at people telling you the obvious truth.
