Some of my classmates and I put together a list of books by people of colour and books to educate ourselves about the experiences of people of colour. I am pinning it here so we have access to it and can add to it.
@oldenoughtosay I first learned to drive in Houston, Texas. Automatic. I never used to use the hand break. But then I moved to Essex, learned to drive a manual, and now I always use the hand break.
@Sally_writes My husband excitedly showed me a bag we bought me saying, "It's purple!! Purple is your favourite colour!!" Reader, it was hot pink. And that's how we found out my husband is colourblind.
@TheMamasaurus People will look at my obviously Italian mom and wonder why I'm ginger. Their minds are blown when they find out that my grandfather was ginger. DNA is more than your immediate parents 🤦
@MrsRieB We have a surplus in our family 😅 almost all of them our known by nicknames. In fact I once went to pick my cousin up from work and was really confused when someone called her Marie. "Who the hell is Marie??? Oh..."
