Where are the trees?
We have A LOT of this landscape and less than 4% native woodland. This landscape should be a rich mosaic of habitats, moor, bog, woodland, montane scrub… We force it to remain in this artificial state. We don’t need to give every inch of our uplands over to sheep, grouse and deer stalking. If we are serious about reversing biodiversity loss then we urgently need to choose a different path.

I heard Alex Salmond speak at the student union at St Andrew’s uni early 90s. I was already heading towards the SNP but this cemented it. He was brilliant. He and his wife would stop off at the restaurant where I worked. They were kind and generous with their tips!! #RIP
What I saw.
A woman getting hit SO hard, in the head, by a man, that she wisely chose to stop it, because she KNEW if she didn’t, she’d be seriously injured or worse.
Blood, sweat, tears, training, dreams…shattered….
