Looking forward to the coming days, the start of the academic year, and the return of students - moving through, making sounds, living life!
Prof Des O’Neill, @TUH_Tallaght (TUH), has launched a new report that examines the links between housing conditions and the health of older people. The research was funded by The Meath Foundation and involved TUH, @AgeFriendlyIrl , @Trinity_Haus and BRE - https://t.co/5FvHkVl3Ux
Research takes time. Slow, steady & method(olog)ical. Having completed all our research activities, we’re now doing the good work of drawing out key findings to underpin the next phase of our work – the development of a set of Universal Design Guidelines for RLTC in Ireland.
@TomEGrey @JenniferEODee …and, then, there’s our Research Fellow @dimitraxidous, a woman of just the right amount of words, getting straight to the point…
@TomEGrey presenting key findings. The research highlights 3 main issues:
💡implications that poor housing conditions have on older people
💡urgent need for better housing data
💡need to support & expand integrated approaches to housing and care of older people
@JenniferEODee gives overview of methodological approach underpinning the research - including overview of the stakeholder engagement approach - centred around the lived experience of older persons, the @Trinity_Haus approach involved focus groups, diaries, & home visits.
💡Report Launch - Kicking off now! My colleagues @Age_Matters @TomEGrey and @JenniferEODee presenting on findings from @Trinity_Haus - led research on 'Housing Conditions and Integrated Care of Older People.
