@megievalist I am, admittedly, very OCD, and grammar is the primary place in which that shows up. The other one that stalks me, even in my sleep, is the loss of the English subjunctive in wish/condionals: “I wish I was….”; “if I was a rich girl…” A veritable finger on a chalkboard for me!

@megievalist I despise them and refuse ever to use them even while speaking. I also never end sentences with prepositions either, whether in my writing or in my speaking; I find them both to be entirely inelegant and, dare I say it, un-Ciceronian, the ultimate arbiter elegantiae!

After perusing 25,000 comments in the past two days, most of which attempt to explain why Americans are voting for Communists, socialists, and antisemites in record numbers, I’ve done the only rational thing a man in my position can do; I’ve agreed to go on Real Time with Bill Maher this Friday to talk about it.

I was also inspired by all the "sturm und drang" to make a quick commercial that highlights one of our many scholarship recipients who mastered a trade, and then went on to open her own business. Her name is Maryssa, and while I have no idea what her politics might be, I can assure you that her attitude, her initiative, and her work ethic are proof positive that the American Dream is still in reach, for any who would grab it and go.

I received the results today for my pet/ct scans and there is good news, thanks be to God! There was no radiological sign of cancer on the pet scan; as the doctor said, however, there were biochemical signs of active cancer, so we will need to monitor the situation closely.
