@editingwithamy @sickandsalty 💛💙 living with chronic illness - and all the barriers we have to navigate, and needs we have to advocate for - and the layers of misogyny and bias embedded in medicine & also society - is exhausting
@GeorgiaDOL We have no way of getting confirmation of what has been submitted, and recently your portal has been acting buggy and won't let me hit "continue" to submit. Get it together.
@Be_Kinderr But it only worked for a short period of time (going theory is bro that gave me a patch accidentally punctured me during the patch and gave me another hole). I contacted Duke dr again and he said blood patch worked on my headache because...POTS (2/2) What tf lol?
@Be_Kinderr I went to Duke for a positional headache that began with the feeling of a baseball bat to the back of the head. The Duke dr tried to convince me I had POTS, wrote that I didn't look like I had POTS and mentioned my "anxiety." I came back home & got a blood patch; it worked 1/2
@Heather98323492 What scares me is if something went wrong, the ER wouldn't know what to do. Saline IV feels like it lowers my ICP and the ER blasted it thru me until I was seizing, non-verbal, chin on chest from heaviness of brain. Then they forgot inflated BP cuff on my arm & left the room.
@es_lavender Sounds like the onset of my suspected CSF leak. During the first month, I kept waking up fine then getting hit with stroke-like symptoms, hot flashes, cold spells, shivering, and myoclonus.
@Heather98323492 I have a suspected spinal CSF leak and dx CCI. I had NO sensitivities before the leak suddenly began. Now, I have MCAS-like symptoms and have terrifying reactions--to saline IVs, to regular shots, to any meds. I am pro vax, but I do not think I could survive the vaccine.
@Nate_Van_Samuel@nytimes Can it really be classified as misconduct? This reminds me of the countries where it's legal to escape prison because it's assumed to be human nature to want to flee. What human wouldn't pursue a better chance for life when facing the opportunity?
@shvaltershvoss @hollyresting @sarahmarieramey This is a good point. I think this is why I sometimes feel conflicted about these lines. Me thinking: Were you not listening when I explained this earlier?
@idance4joy@seanhelaosouse @StevijoPayne I did something similar...and I was teaching that day. Oops. But it was a backpack that bunched up my skirt. I bet she was probably wearing some type of tights; for me, it's always been the reduction in friction since my skirt is not against skin that makes it ride up.
