Hulk’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn't what everyone thinks- here’s why.

Many fans were disappointed because the trailers already showed almost all of Hulk's footage, leaving no real surprises in the movie.

However, Bruce Banner’s main narrative purpose here was to set up the return of his darker, savage alter-ego.

With Banner confirmed to return for Avengers: Secret Wars, leaked concept art reveals he is reverting to his full, classic Hulk form.

Marvel is clearly priming him to be a power-house force before the heroes head into Battleworld.

My honest review: it’s a good movie on its own, but a bad Spider-Man movie. I’m very disappointed with this film and with the MCU’s take on Spidey in general. Once again they didn’t give me the Spider-Man I wanted to see. Yes, we finally get better swinging and improved visuals, and Peter feels more like his comic-book counterpart - but they turned this into more of an X-Men setup than a Spider-Man movie.

What I wanted: Harry, Gwen, Black Cat, maybe Kingpin. Actual Spider-Man villains as the main threat. Maybe even a proper mention of Uncle Ben.

What I got: Jean Grey and an obscure X-Men villain who appeared in only a handful of issues as the main antagonists.

It all feels like setup for another franchise. And they should’ve moved on from Ned and maybe even MJ, bringing them back makes it feel like the series can’t evolve. Overall, very disappointing.

SOME DON'T KNOW ABOUT SHOWERING AT SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE. IF YOU HAVEN'T STRUGGLED, I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO UNDERSTAND.
