This is a beautifully written exploration of why we need to take action on climate for our children’s future. So pleased to see it’s being relaunched this year!
My book "Climate Generation- Awakening to our Children's Future" has just been re-published. Fully updated, including a new preface. Re-launched by Beehive books. Excited to be speaking at Dublin Book Festival on 12 November.

The second deadly sin of writing…
…Not writing consistently.
Like, every day.
Even a Tweet
will do…
No excuses.
If you have time to scroll through Insta or Twitter, you have time to write a sentence.
Just one.
My negative self-talk told me so.
@frankwkelly @BoyneValleyIFF It takes so much work to make a short film and it’s so good to hear that this festival takes such care in making the selections. 🤗
Good luck to everyone who has submitted an entry! 🤞🍀

Things I to do when I should be writing:
Organising
Decluttering
Paper shuffling
Buying notebooks
Procrastination. It’s the first of the seven deadly sins of writing.

That’s the exciting theme of this summer school.
Let’s find out!

Why is it that so many (literary and creative) writers struggle to make a living? This article outlines so many barriers, and the advice is ‘Don’t give up your day job.’ Is there an alternative? 🤔 Let’s find out. 🕵🏻♀️📚💻 https://t.co/aJnOEDYWum
This event in 1879 was the beginnings of massive civil unrest in rural Ireland.
When the harvest failed and tenant farmers faced famine, many used their rent money to buy food.
Eviction for non-payment of rent meant certain death.
Enter the Land League.

On this day, the 20th of April 1879, thousands of tenant farmers throughout Mayo, Galway and Roscommon were on the march. Posters had advertised a ‘Tenant Right Meeting’ in the village of Irishtown, County Mayo.

@PoolbegBooks Bought it, read it, loved it! 🥰📚
An epic work of historical fiction, with a backdrop of the Irish Land War in the 1880s.
Maria’s storytelling is exceptional.
