@ScottCath@StandingHannah 3 of 4 boards in Ottawa have CUPE members. The biggest overall may not, but that one board doesn't necessarily mean more overall students.
@BCKenzee@ONT_Dad They've stayed in a profession that hasn't seen a raise in 10 years BECAUSE they care so much about the kids. But there comes a time when they have to choose their own family over others'. Not to mention their own physical and mental well-being. #39kIsNotEnough

@Travisdhanraj@fordnation@CUPEOntario Correction. We LIVED in a democracy. Past tense. What Ford and Lecce did today effectively dismantled the democratic system in Ontario. This government has become a tyranny.
We value all of our staff and recognize the important contributions of our CUPE staff. We support a fairly negotiated settlement as the path forward, and not a legislated and imposed collective agreement on staff and Boards. Hoping for positive news today.
@CheriDiNovo@JustinTrudeau@fordnation 6) demand 2-3 weeks post 1st vaccine before being mandated back to in-person learning.
Is it too much to ask to be safe in your workplace @fordnation ? Apparently yes, but only if you are an education worker.
While schools will be closed to most next week (and indefinitely), they won't be closed to all.
The health and safety of educators and education workers who are returning on Monday needs to be a priority.
