@Liz_Cresswell @HCPerrin @annalapwood 3/ some stops sound multiple pitches when one key is pressed. 'Mixture' and 'Sesquialtera' do this. The numbers underneath correspond to the pitches that sound. 'Sesquialtera' will sound a note 17 higher in the scale (two octaves and a third) above middle C...

@Liz_Cresswell @HCPerrin @annalapwood 2/ There are also stops called 'mutations', which reinforce different parts of the harmonic series. A 12th, for example, will sound a pitch 12 notes in the scale higher than the pitch played. So if middle C is played it will sound the G an octave and a half above.

@Liz_Cresswell @HCPerrin @annalapwood 1/ I'll do my best to be concise. The numbers under stop names refer to its pitch relative to piano pitch. Middle C at 8' sounds the same as middle C on the piano. 4' sounds an octave higher, 16' an octave lower for the same note.

@helloitskolo 1/ The King has done an awful lot for charity: he set up the Princes charitable Trust, which he paid for with his own money. It raises £100m per year for various causes and helps 1000's per year.

@helloitskolo 2/ yes, he's outrageously wealthy and It is an injustice that there are such wealthy people in the world while so many suffer and go without. As for paying for it out of his own money. Who knows, he might like to. I doubt he'd be allowed

@helloitskolo 3/ The coronation will more than pay for itself; it's how the government chooses to spend that money that is the issue. They have wasted billions on giving their mates dodgy deals, using COVID as an excuse. And that's the tip of the iceberg.

@helloitskolo 1/ I absolutely agree with you that it is horrendous those protesters were arrested. That is a huge injustice. As for the cost of the thing, spending £100m during a cost of living crisis doesn't look great, but it will generate income.
