Olympus is 40% done and it would be a struggle to finish it in time even if it was allowed. This means that I won't have to sprint and I can write at my own pace.
Dungeon might be able to pull it off. There are things to fix in it, too, and I'm a way better writer now.
J-Novel Club has finally released their guidelines for this year's contest. Biggest takeaways:
* Only 1 entry per person
* Min of 35k and max of 75k words
This basically means that Project Olympus is excluded both in length and because Dungeon has a way better chance.
there are several types of first anime
-first one you saw on TV as a little kid
-first one where you realized Cartoon, Japan is actually better
-first one you sought out yourself when you went on The Computer after making that realization
Sadly I don't really mention my opinion on it or anything. It's kinda the vibe of the entire diary to be totally honest, so I'm not surprised. Still, that's a hard date on when I watched it, so I'm happy about finding it.
I found a reference to Haruhi in my middle school diary! I watched the entire thing in two days between the 7th and 8th August 2010. I'm pretty sure I watched S1 with my brother before this, so I binged all 28 episodes in a couple of days, the Endless Eight included.
[Project Olympus]
I haven't talked about it in a while, but it's going strong! I'm 40% of the way there, but I have been procrastinating, but I also have tons of time to finish it before the December 31st deadline for JNC.
New romance light novel
>A guy meets a female version of himself from a parallel universe. They both realize they’re each other’s type and start falling in love
She can destroy entire cities of she wants to, make people bend to her will, live any life she wants... but the one thing she cannot do is manipulate the heavens (ironic considering she's an "angel" and all that).
Now how to write a story with an eclipse...
[AWWG]
For a long time I have been thinking that Hikari would be an eclipse chaser. And after seeing my first total solar eclipse today, this definitely fits her to a T. Because it's one of the few events even she cannot control.
[Olympus]
About a third of the way there. This is such a stupid story but I'm having so much fun writing it. I get a random idea and just put it in. Like a character nicknamed "Sister Badonkers" because it's funny.
Okay, so what sees to be happening is that the Haganai manga is deviating from the LN starting on volume 15. Which would explain why this went in such a... crazy and spicy direction. Even funnier considering the mangaka is a woman...! She's Rika incarnate!

So, I have been reading Haganai a lot, and it's really fun—but now that I'm older I don't find Sena nearly as attractive as I did as a teen. Sure, she's hot, but she's also not right in the head, like pretty much everyone else here.
...Is this what you call character growth?
I'm still not pantsing, but I'm allowing myself the space to discover connections and ideas that I otherwise would force myself to get all at once.
And the reason for this is because the first draft has become less and less painful over time, so I'm willing to throw things away.
My writing style has been changing over the years. In my first novels I outlined extensively and followed it to the letter, then trudged through the first draft and only edited at the end.
Now I'm way more free form. I still outline, but I stop and edit as better ideas appear.
