Any music industry person who is on the internet often referencing artist(s) that they helped develop or break, pre-tik tok is a🚩
I'd trust some 22 year old kid in the weeds more than them some one that has to constantly reference what they did years & years ago
AI Music would go the way that those metaverses and such went if this was the case from the beginning, rather than the psy-op that's in place that's still fooling so many people
If people want to make AI music then so be it, if you want to listen to it as well then go ahead.
It shouldn't be anywhere near the big streaming services though.
Suno should just make a streaming app and all distributors should ban it entirely. Let people make, listen and share inside suno.
There truly is such a worse problem of ACTUAL bot accounts on tik tok. That are typically directed to Psy-op you into thinking hundreds of thousands of people are loving ai slop music on there
And yeah, every other industry is doing this type of marketing at this point. It clearly works and marketers are just trying to do their job well. We’re all a victim to the medium.
Blame the medium. It’s been the most effective music marketing strategy for a while now, other than just telling the artist to post on socials. Tik tok can drive infinitely more streams than any DSP could for any emerging artist. And we’re all just playing the same algorithm game
Geese was obviously doing a million other things aside from an active chaotic good campaign. No one who actually knows anything would call them an “industry plant”. There is no such thing as an industry plant in 2026 anyway.
It was probably at 95% of all plays last year when Velvet Sundown first hit viral charts. Bots have been running these streams up and fooling plenty of people since the start of this all…
85 percent of all plays on Gen AI “music” are fraud, according to reports.
EIGHTY-FIVE PERCENT!
People don’t want this bullshit.
It’s diluting the royalty pools, shifting money away from human artists and rights holders to literal criminals.
Any “music industry professional” that charges aspiring artists to chat with them is broke. They need naive up and coming artists much more than yall need any of the useless information they’ll tell you
Apple Music is introducing AI transparency tags for new releases, according to an email sent to partners.
If AI was used to create a "material portion" of a release, one or more of the following tags will be required:
▫️ Artwork: AI was used to generate a material portion of the artwork for an album. This applies to both static and motion graphic artwork.
▫️ Track: AI was used to generate a material portion of a sound recording. This tag is available at the track level only.
▫️ Composition: AI was used to generate a material portion of any music composition embodied in a track. Use this tag when AI generated a material portion of the lyrics, or other components of a composition.
▫️ Music Video: AI was used to generate a material portion of the visual elements. This applies to music videos bundled with albums and standalone videos.
Apple will leave it to the discretion of each partner to determine what qualifies as AI content. (via 9to5Mac)
BREAKING: Utah Jazz star Jaren Jackson Jr. is likely to miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his left knee to ensure his longterm health after a localized PVNS growth was discovered post trade, league sources tell me.
Or maybe that jpegmafia has probably 5x the amount of songs/catalog that geese has?
More songs = more songs for people to stream = more listeners
Monthly listeners isn't a catch all popularity metric...
