Seems weird for this many Arkansas Republicans to vote against a @realDonaldTrump priority when he dragged so many of their political corpses across the finish line in November.
JUST IN: The Arkansas State House just rejected a bill that would require the state to adopt the "Gulf of America" name change and use the term in all official communication.
Republicans introduced a bill mandating higher bank fees? Wow, I didn’t realize Congress sets pricing for private banks.
Or maybe…they’re rolling back a lame-duck Biden CFPB regulation that incentivizes over-drafting accounts?
But sure, let’s disingenuously frame this as a “wealth transfer” instead of what it really is—ending performative, anti-enterprise regulation.
Republicans have introduced legislation to INCREASE bank fees. Yep, you heard it right.
How does this help average working Americans pay bills? Hint: It doesn’t.
This is what wealth transfer looks like.
Post-Election Thoughts about my Campaign,
A thread 🧵: 1/6
Reflecting on my experience on the campaign trail, I’m deeply grateful for the countless conversations and new perspectives I’ve gained along the way. Before I launched this campaign, I knew the impossible task before me, but I decided to put my whole heart into it anyway. I wasn’t going to be just a name on the ballot—I was going to do everything possible to win. Every door slammed in my face and every snide remark while canvassing reminded me of the uphill battle I was facing, yet I persisted. My opponent barely had to lift a finger in his re-election bid because he didn’t have to; he was guaranteed to win in this district regardless of what I did. That’s just the current reality here. But I was determined to show up for the people of District 58, meeting as many of you as I could, because I believe a true representative must know the people they serve. I did it because I truly feel the people here deserve a representative who will be their voice and represent everyone in the district and not just be a rubber stamp for a political party at the expense of constituents.
@JamesBartolomei weird take.
you think it’s wrong for a voter to support partisan and non-partisan candidates simultaneously?
meanwhile, you, a **checks notes** DEMOCRAT candidate for office, calls a non-partisan candidate an “extremist” in a public forum?
good luck in your R+37 district!
@_sharkansas @GavinMcCollum @ArkansasBlog “Their words alone is all you have to hear”
Based on your words, you seem like a really kind, accepting fella who would never stoop to name calling!
@cupcakesarenice As if $20 for 2 paper thin slices of cold brisket and ice cream scoops of beans and potato salad weighed out to the tenth of an ounce wasn't enough . . .
@The_Shumater Cmon Rich, if you’re going to strawman at least be transparent. Though, you probably don’t get as many clicks mentioning he joined the marines and attended college on the GI Bill.
