Senator Borris L. Miles opens the Health and Human Services Interim Hearing by stressing that Texas has the highest uninsured and underinsured residents in the entire country, especially in Senate District 13. Access, cost and quality remain the biggest problems with the current system. Senator Miles emphasized that changes are needed to ensure ALL TEXANS have access to affordable, accessible and quality healthcare.

I attended tonight’s HISD Board meeting, where the Miles Ahead Scholars program was honored. Since 2019, I have secured $44 million in state funding to create the Miles Ahead Scholars program, which helps underprivileged young men of color from Kashmere, Wheatley, and Worthing High Schools pursue college and a path to success.
This program has already paid dividends. Last year, the Class of 2025 received 120 college acceptances and more than $4 million in college scholarships.
The Class of 2026 is already well on its way, having received 95 college acceptances and $1 million in scholarships so far—and these are just early offers!
These aren’t just numbers; they are a powerful testament to the relentless dedication and hard work of these scholars. It was an absolute pleasure to attend this meeting and honor the achievements of these scholars.
I also want to give a special shout out to the MAS Program Director, Dr. Exley Warren and his entire team for all of their hard work to prepare these young men for a bright future.

Last night, I participated in a candidate forum hosted by the Montgomery County Republican Women.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to share my background and experience as a prosecutor, criminal district court judge, and conservative leader in the Texas State Senate with the attendees—and to explain why that makes me the most qualified candidate for Texas Attorney General.
Looking forward to being back in Montgomery County soon!

It is with a grateful heart that I announce I filed my declaration of candidacy with the Indiana Secretary of State for United States Representative for the 6th Congressional District of Indiana.
I am running for Congress because I believe strength and civility are needed in Washington, D.C. to produce results for Hoosiers.
Bipartisanship is an essential component of the legislative process. Opportunities are lost when members of Congress fail to listen and communicate effectively. I will work across the aisle to find common ground on the issues facing Hoosiers.
Our Democracy is in a fragile state and must be preserved with the Constitution as our guiding principle. The weakening of the separation of powers has caused lasting impacts to our government. I will work to ensure our checks and balances function properly and to bring stability to our institutions.
The lack of jobs, healthcare, housing, food security and the overall lack of affordability has caused undue stress for many Hoosiers. People - young and old - are negatively affected when basic needs are not adequately met. I will work to bring down the cost of living and to improve the quality of life for all Americans.
I look forward to earning the votes of Hoosiers across the 11 counties of the 6th District and the support of Americans nationwide.

@SavannahGuthrie hello,
Do you also consider our Creator as first member of your household?
We came into the household He created, & as we know, He was around first
Anyone who doesn't consider God in their households at all, likely asked Him to leave by their heart and actions
