@FieldsSzn69@Brandon_D27@ThienemanSZN If he wasn’t allowed to get to the base by the tag then he wouldn’t have ever come off the base in the first place. Gotta stay on the base during a live ball or else you’re liable to be tagged out
@MistaHooHoo@PhoggyThoughts@ROCKCHALKKU90 Not disagreeing with that. Just gotta show effort on the defensive side to get some consistent run for Bill Self. Always been that way
@VinnyDahitman@JoezMcfLy I don’t give two craps about the Yankees or Jazz but if you gotta teach a 28 year old 6 year major leaguer the rules of the sport then you have much bigger problems than your major league coaching staff. That’s a self-responsibility issue
@btoellner@mizkris18 I can understand liking the culture. Similar to the football program. But what is there about Gates’s coaching style that there is to like? This is what I don’t understand. They don’t play good or sustainable basketball and never have
@WillieTheTiger @RoccSTL I’ll never understand downplaying a win over a team that your team lost to. Always gotta try to rain on someone’s parade. Guess that’s all you got going for ya
@DNeckel19@CBB_Central James Madison was a 12 seed in 2024 which them behind all of the bubble play in teams which confirms that they were not receiving an at large bid. So it is neither a stretch, nor a lie
@nuggetpalooza@ryanhammer09 Um yes I think I would penalize the team for having an extra player and coach in the middle of the court before a whistle had blown anything dead. Not sure why that’s controversial at all
@JonathanStadtm1@TheRealGTS@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog Right. And when you get 15 q1/q2 opportunities you’re likely to win a couple. Especially when teams like Mississippi state and Penn state are considered to be q2 games (or were until recently anyway)
@TheRealGTS@JonathanStadtm1@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog To be clear, I’m not saying they should be a 7 seed. I’m just saying that most 7 seeds and worse wouldn’t have gone 31-0 based on the evidence of those teams losing to MAC quality teams. They should probably be a 10 seed
@JonathanStadtm1@TheRealGTS@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog You don’t ever see it because it’s so hard to win every time out. But they did for 31 of 32 game days. Most of the projected 7 seeds and down have a loss somewhere that would suggest they wouldn’t be 31-1 against Miami’s schedule. All the more reason to let them in
@JonathanStadtm1@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog I understand the process of the tournament selection. I also understand that they’ve never put the best 30ish at large teams in anyway because they change the criteria to fit what they want so “best” is a distinction without any meaning anyway
@JonathanStadtm1@TheRealGTS@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog The predictive metrics build the resume because they measure how good the team is based on the quality of play. I don’t think Miami is one of the 40 best teams but the results of their games produced a top 40 resume and that’s all that should matter. The actual results
@JonathanStadtm1@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog If the tourney is including lesser teams by AQ then there is no claim to it being a tournament of the “best” teams. So that might be the words they use to describe their task but it has never been the actual result of the process
@JonathanStadtm1@LGM_NYR@HuskedupJD@RockChalkBlog Well that’s not true. If they needed to put the “best” teams in then we wouldn’t have AQ’s from lower tier conferences. But the metrics don’t debunk my argument at all. My argument hasn’t changed. I don’t think that most teams would be 31-1 against Miami’s schedule. So they’re in
