“I want to apologise to all those who have been affected by this incident and particularly those local residents who were tormented by those responsible.
“We failed to take action quickly enough on the night and for that I am truly sorry."

Today I opened a letter from my past Chief Constable, the Mets Assistant Commissioner congratulating me on my recent promotion. It is truly the smallest things that make a difference. Thank you Sir for taking the time to write. It means such a lot @MattJukesMPS
Ten years ago today four miners went to their jobs underground at the Gleision Mine & never returned in what would be Wales’s worst mining disaster in modern times. Our thoughts today are with the families and friends of those who died and with those who formed the rescue teams.
Privileged to visit Swansea Help Point this evening and witness the fantastic work by all who give up their time on a voluntary basis to protect the night time economy most vulnerable @SWPSpecials @SJACWestGlam @SWPVolunteers #committed#dedicated#selfless
Great to have an hour with this legend today who is the epitome of professionalism, having served the CID and communities of South Wales with dedication for 26 years. Good luck Shaun on your retirement and thank you for your service. @SWPSwansea @SWPNeathPTalbot @swpolice
