We think that we should be as important to people as they are to us, but it’s not true. In almost every relationship it’s not true. The only exceptions are romantic relationships and authentic friendships.

The difference between science and philosophy is that science states objectively verifiable predictions about natural laws. Philosophy doesn’t. Philosophy pretending to be science is dangerous. Philosophy taken to the absolute degree devours itself and becomes spirituality.
