It's not always easy to look at yourself objectively. Sometimes you'll do horrible things without even realizing it. It's startling when you see the error of your ways and have to come to terms with what you've done. All you can do is try your best to make amends and move forward
Yeah, it is a PC, which makes that price even worse. For $1K you can build a PC, and could maybe even find pre-builts, with better performance than the Steam Machine. It also isn't a console & therefore won't get specialized optimized ports, so those outdates specs really matter.
I keep seeing people complain about the price, so I’m throwing in my two cents:
I dunno if you knew this, but..
IT IS A PC!!
It’s not a console, it’s far more powerful than that, and far cheaper than literally most pre-built gaming PCs. Hecc, it’s about $200 cheaper than what my hand-built was, and that PC’s 7 years old now! Plus, the Steam Machine can literally be used like a PC, which is incredible!
So
TL;DR
It’s a super affordable PC that’s roughly the size of the GameCube (if not smaller), not an overpriced console. If you say otherwise, I’m gonna cry I swear.
Also: it not including a controller? Yeah, because it’s a PC and (presumably) assumes you have a mouse and keyboard already and maybe a controller. Don’t have a controller but want to play with one? Go to Goodwill and get a wired Logitech one for like $12, it’ll treat you well I promise.
That’s my rant for the year, love y’all 💖🥰
I like Valve and Steam is great, but at this price the Steam Machine is easily the worst value in gaming right even when accounting for the ram crisis.
Over $1K to play PC versions of games through a translation layer with outdated specs & no portability benefit like w/ the Steam Deck. The Steam Machine is DOA, only to be purchased by people who'd literally pay their entire life savings to suck Gabe's dick if they could. #Valve
1: That's still dumb af. My friend should not have to put their credentials on my console to play a game locally.
2: There was no mistake, stuff like this gets double checked by multiple departments in a company this big. They were trying to see if people would care. We did.
We incorrectly stated that PlayStation Plus is required for local co-op splitscreen play. Local splitscreen co-op requires a PlayStation account for each player but does not require a PlayStation Plus account.
Also this is true for any PC game with a modding community. People will play their games how they see fit regardless of how some random jackass on the internet feels about it.
It's insane that people are complaining about this. It's an OPTION. Don't like it? Don't use it! If the simple possibility that somebody out there is playing Wolverine with no gore and some beeps really bothers you then you need to re-evaluate your entire life. #Wolverine#PS5
Ain't much for blood, gore, and cursin'? 🩸
Marvel's Wolverine includes violence visibility and profanity toggles via the game settings!

A ResetEra (drunktruckdriver) user has been banned after they reported Stellar Blade to Visa & Mastercard to get it deplatformed on Steam and Consoles.
Even the forum called it a troll move and said it was ridiculous.
This is how they will try to kill games they don’t like, the Stellar Blade series, through payment processors.

Pragmata's devs had a "Diana Police" team responsible for making sure Diana was cute
The all-female group reviewed her animations and dialogue to ensure her cuteness felt natural and "childlike"
The online split screen should also only require 1 subscription btw, just like how literally every modern online game mode that allows local multiplayer already works. There's no defending this shit from any angle. #PSPlus#Halo#XBox#Microsoft
I'm fucking sorry, they're requiring 2 accounts for an ONLINE SERVICE to play OFFLINE LOCAL MULTIPLAYER??? This is true dystopian gaming. Even games like Resident Evil 5 with obtuse per-player inventory progression doesn't do this crap. This level of greed is unparalleled. #PS5
According to the official FAQ, Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5 will require both players in split-screen co-op to have their own PlayStation Network accounts, active PlayStation Plus subscriptions, and linked Microsoft accounts.
Normally local split-screen games normally don’t require PlayStation Plus.
The FAQ also states that Xbox players only need separate Microsoft accounts for split-screen.
If these requirements are accurate, PS5 players will need two PlayStation Plus subscriptions just to play couch co-op, in addition to two Microsoft accounts.

@salty_armpit Lmao throwing out the "git gud" instead of arguing the point like it's the 2010's? Really? If you're this butt hurt about someone pointing out a flaw in a game you like then you gotta touch some grass. Delete you're worthless ass account first tho, thx. Muted btw, stay mad & sad.
Nothing pisses me off in games more than punishing the player for shit that they never could've known about, and yeah Mina the Hollower just pissed me the fuck off and it did so very, very intentionally. (1/7) #MinaTheHollower#YachtClubGames#MtH
Anyway that's my big rant for a small moment that epitomizes shitty game design. I hope Mina the Hollower gets better because it's a 7/10 at best for me right now without even considering this shit, leaning on 6 with this bs, def a 4 or lower if it keeps it up. (7/7)
Also I've heard it's a teaching moment for something later in the game, but that shit shouldn't exist either! If you don't want players using all their vials then don't give them as many! This shit is fucking awful no matter how you look at it. (6/7)
