Shindadong Tiger was not only a genius, once-in-a-lifetime songwriter and producer, but, by all accounts of everyone he has ever worked with, a remarkable human being.

You can tell a lot about a man's character by the way he treats his employees.

In this video, PD is producing 16-year old foreigner Aoyagi Sumire for their first comeback in nearly one year.. and the first TRI․BE song without debut member Kim Jinha, who was on hiatus for health issues. It was a tough, stressful time.

Mire's comfort level in this video is truly heartwarming.

When she struggles with the "yare" vocal delivery, PD knows her well and asks her to translate this into Japanese so that her she can comfortably execute the lyrics in a natural state of mind. With this guidance, Mire absolutely nails the take!

Being a great producer isn't just about twisting knobs and playing with ProTools.. it's about getting the absolute most out of your singers in the booth. Shinsadong Tiger was a master of this craft, extracting the absolute best performance out of the talent he worked with.

As you watch just this short clip, you can see how heartfelt and kind PD was to his girls, and how much they enjoyed working with him in the studio.

It's difficult and stressful to be in a studio recording vocals -- time is money, and every day counts towards perfectly timed comebacks, schedules, and promotions -- but Shinsadong Tiger brought an air of lightness to his professionalism that makes you truly appreciate not only his talents but his character.

Thank you, PD, for everything you contributed to the music industry. And even more so, thank you for always taking such good care of Songsun, Kelly, Jinha, Hyunbin, Jia, Soeun, and Mire. RIP ♡
