How often do we try to follow Christ on our own terms? How often do we say, “I will serve, but only when it fits my schedule,” or “I will forgive, but only when they deserve it,” or “I will be faithful, but only when it’s easy”?

If Christ had approached His mission with the same hesitation, there would have been no Atonement. No redemption. No hope. His perfect submission to the Father’s will was not conditional—it was complete.

When you ask God for guidance about decisions in your life—including some important decisions—He may not give you a detailed answer.

The truth is that sometimes it doesn’t matter to the Lord what you decide as long as you stay within the fundamental covenants and principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are times when God has a specific path He wants you to follow. There are also times when He will warn you against certain choices because of dangers you can’t foresee. But then there are times when a question has multiple “right” answers, and you can find joy in any of them as long as you live by God’s eternal truths.

You may not see it until much later, but you will look back and know that the Lord never abandoned you, even when He let you make some decisions for yourself. You will see that the dots do connect.

We come to church not to hide our problems but to heal them. It is not an automobile showroom—a place to put ourselves on display so that others can admire our spirituality, capacity, or prosperity.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is more like a service center, where vehicles in need of repair come for maintenance and rehabilitation.

And are we not all in need of repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation?

Artificial discipleship not only keeps us from seeing ourselves as who we really are, but it also prevents us from truly changing through the miracle of the Savior’s Atonement.

The Savior’s Church is a place of healing, not a place of despair, judgment, or sorrow. Jesus Christ, and living His restored gospel, can make of us the genuine, spiritual being of light and truth we desire to be.

How do you explain Jacob 5, chiasmus in Alma 36, the names of Pahoran, Paanchi, Pacumeni, the clear change of voice in the writings from Nephi to Jacob, the geography, dialogue throughout by Mormon??

@robezenk @RonaldARasband I think they are very credible. Even though Whitmer never came back to 'Mormonism' he never denied the Book of Mormon. And I'm aware of Martin Harris following Strang for a time, but he came back and never denied his witness. Same with Cowdery. He left, came back and never denied

@robezenk @RonaldARasband Another big evidence, the Testimony of the 3 and 8 Witnesses. Several of them left the Church, but none of them ever denied their witness of the divinity and reality of the Gold Plates and The Book of Mormon. Why were they willing to stay firm in their witness? Esp David Whitmer?

@robezenk @RonaldARasband As far as evidence to prove the Book of Mormon is true, I have several. One of those is Jacob 5 on the Allegory of the Olive Tree. There is no way that Joseph Smith could explain in such detail the methods of pruning, grafting and caring for Olive trees, especially in New England

@robezenk @RonaldARasband I don't have any problem with the way Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. Using a seer stone in his hat or the Urim and Thummim, I'm ok with that. Remember, all Christians readily accept that Mary conceived by The Holy Ghost (Mat 1:20). Arguably a stretch to believe, eh?

@robezenk @RonaldARasband The Title Page openly says "If there are faults they are the mistakes of men." Just like the Bible has mistakes. Also, who could've written a book of this grandeur in 65 working days? Even the best authors in the world like Tolkien took him 12 years to write Lord of The Rings.
