Minneapolis Park Board finance co-chair overseeing millions unable to read dollar amounts in spending resolution

Commissioner Kay Carvajal Moran, who was born and raised in Minneapolis, read a six-digit contract number without assistance but relied on a colleague to read three dollar amounts.

"It’s an expose on a system that would allow someone to get a college degree without knowing how to read numbers and then that same person would be so fluffed up with nonsense as to believe they legitimately can run a $140 million dollar organization," wrote former Commissioner Becka Thompson.
