The two clash as they pursue the role in very different ways. Though they eventually get on the same page, the new Slayer is a rebellious spirit that lives by her own rules and doesn't respond well to being burdened by the responsibility of being the Slayer.
There's an episode of Buffy that sets something like this up. She's the Slayer, in a world where there is only ever ONE. There are candidates who train in secret in preparation to take up the role whenever the current Slayer dies.
The enhanced strength and agility belonging to this role transfers to a new Chosen One, who becomes the new Slayer. Anyway, there's an episode where Buffy technically dies for a minute and later meets the new Slayer, who gained the power despite Buffy not having lost hers.
@RossyPrime Challenge accepted. Women will be responsible for EVERYTHING that goes into running this society. Absolutely NO assistance from Men for ANYTHING.
@CatWomaniya Sorry, does something seem odd, here? You placed yourself in this situation, how is it anyone else's fault that you are here? You are responsible for yourself, not us.
@CatWomaniya Women are so strong and independent that they can't take their own safety into their hands and expect everyone around them to become their bodyguard at the drop of a hat.
@ev_grigor47474@pascaliito I THOUGHT it was the directors rushing to close the book so they could do the Mandalorian, but I guess that was just some rumor because they weren't even considered and I'm even MORE confused wtf happened.
@Libertygems@SteveInmanClips While the violence here did go a bit far for my tastes, I have to agree that women need to stop being shielded from this reality. Their amnesty of this lesson gave rise to behavior like hers, that she could do anything at all to him simply because he's not allowed to retaliate.
@pictureubroken@ScorpioPatrol@ubelfem Yeah, because facts are inventive and change to keep things interesting. They never stay the same or act as definitive points to the topic at hand...
The sun is hot today, but that's not original, maybe it will turn into a ball of ice tomorrow...
@OP_senju True, but this is the Avatar we're talking about. Surely, they would want the best for the job, this is a spiritual figure of GODLY proportions, after all.
@mavihevesss Flow and control. Traffic coming around is more prepared to adjust to incoming traffic from other directions. Additionally, that's likely a slope. A straight shot would increase wear on breaks to control descent, and result in more accidents as people come speeding straight down.
@OP_senju I want to believe that a current Avatar must have had a way to make this easier. Maybe Earthbending is used to make them, would shave a lot of time off.
@Tobee_ST@Lairdphoenix27 If we look at Iroh when he's back home, after Ba Sing Se (when he permits Zuko entry to the War Council), he seems more preoccupied with keeping peace and helping Zuko come to grips with the role he's expected to play. It's like he's trying to make the best of a bad situation.
@SymplyTonbra@pascaliito I LOVE Varrick. He brings life to the show in a way nobody else does, not even Bolin. He's like the Tony Stark of this universe, right down to the smart and reliable female assistant. "Ju Lee, Aim for that one spot on my back that I can never reach!"
"Ju Lee, do the thing!"
I find it funny that Earth Kingdom forces were ready to do anything to prevent them from getting in and nobody bothered to think "Wait, isn't that the AVATAR?! Isn't he on OUR side?!" until the Earth King did it.
@love4trxs@HasuNoShitsuji@p1nkpaleta No. Do you see that LINK that I mentioned? Do you see how it goes to another account? Do you see how that account has a woman for a pfp?
