Murder is the premeditated killing of an innocent human. The fetus is human and innocent. Abortion is the premeditated killing of the fetus. Therefore, abortion is murder.
That is not, in fact, the situation. I fully understand that you have no intention of agreeing with the strawman you're constructing.
> A politician threatens to throw you in jail for the rest of your life for not voting for him
The correct analogy: A judge decides to condemn you to death because you're an unrepentant murderer.
That's what God does to people with hell.
> One would expect a physical ruler to be hypocritical and self-serving.
There's a lot to unpack from this statement. Why would one expect a human being to be hypocritical and self-serving? How does one account for a benevolent creator God when this is the case?
> ominpotent divinity wouldn't demand loyalty
Why? If this entity is just, it would by its nature have to demand loyalty to truth, love, justice, etc.
> direct contravention of its own stated morality
How does punishing sin contradict the entity's morality if the entity is just?
> believing you're better than everyone else
Pretty sure we already covered that when I said no one is good but God.
> and that you have the exclusive knowledge of the truth?
I don't have exclusive knowledge of truth, I just have a better understanding of what truth *is*... And it is not of my own doing. God is truth.
> Because he's not even capable of controlling evil.
You are the evil that requires controlling. The real question is why you're blaming him for his mercy and patience.
> And he killed a whole lot of people
God kills everyone, and it is good that he should do so. Have you ever asked yourself why salvation is available to man but not the angels?
> The entire concept of original sin sounds like Mafia tactics.
Would you like me to explain "sin" to you in secular terms?
> why doesn't he just take it all back?
What does that mean, exactly?
> only to condemn the vast majority of us
We condemn ourselves. You have it backwards. The gift of salvation is free.
> It's an abusive relationship
So he's a monster if he lets you have free will, yet a tyrant in the event he doesn't. Pick a lane.
@henryb_84@chuckleofdoom@GiaMMacool > one of the seven deadly sins is envy
Jealousy is not envy. Envy is wanting someone someone else has. It is covetousness. Jealousy is not wanting to lose something that is yours. Everything belongs to God, so... Do the math.
@henryb_84@GiaMMacool > Which denomination is the true one?
Only one person has ever had perfect theology. The key is whether or not you understand and accept the gospel, which is so simple that literally anyone can grasp it.
@FoolOfElysium@GiaMMacool@henryb_84 Just means you don’t understand the power of faith.
Abraham never thought his child would be sacrificed. Genesis 22:8.
@RachelCoyleOhio@JackassWisperer Yes. There aren’t enough, which is why Biden made it a point to flood the state with Haitians.
