I'm feeling pretty puffy, thanks to too many carbs over Christmas. I'm back on plan now, but two weeks of indulgence gave me an extra 3 kgs. Yikes.

On the right, 2 cups of plain yoghurt. 350 calories.
On the left, 1/2 cup of plain yoghurt, with a half scoop of cookies & cream protein powder mixed in. 150 calories. Far more filling & delicious.
Portion sizes matter!
Food prep can be as basic as measuring out your breakfast the night before.
If you don't measure, you really don't know what you're eating. Literally no idea.
I thought I was eating a half cup of yoghurt each morning. In reality, it was more like 2 cups. 4 x the calories!
It's easy to make dietary mistakes. I made one today.
I bought 50g of salted macadamias. Just a snack.
That "healthy snack" was 360 calories, roughly the same as a McDonald's cheeseburger!! Not smart.
I won't do that again! Nuts are delicious, but awful for weight loss.
I used to tell myself that it was fine to eat anything labelled "healthy".
The result? I was obese and pre-diabetic, and couldn't understand why.
These days, I track EVERYTHING I eat, and follow a sensible, routine food plan.
And yes, I measure out my portions.
My journey so far:
I used to be obese. Thanks to diet changes & a regular gym habit, I've lost just over 15 kgs / 35 pounds & kept it off for 3 years.
I'm still slowly losing weight, while building muscle.
Now no longer pre-diabetic, and feeling 100% better than I used to.
Diet is more important than exercise.
There are plenty of overweight, unwell people who exercise, but ZERO overweight, unwell people eating a healthy diet and correct portions.
Food for thought!
@RealCandaceO I don't agree with a lot of your opinions, but I am glad you will be able to express them freely and visit our beautiful country ๐๐ณ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ฟ

@dbseymour Are you still in favour of ankle bracelets for covid-positive people?
You were advocating that back 4 years ago. And yes, you are part of the problem.
